The Meridian Community Centre is home to two NHL sized rinks and programs and events for all ages and skill levels. Public skating, adult learn to skate, stick and puck, men's shinny, women's shinny, women's learn to play hockey, and more are offered throughout the year.

*Programming schedule subject to change. Please note that all ice programs are subject to a standard 50 minute hour to allow time for a flood.

Public Skating

• Skate in the direction of all skaters • Listen and adhere to the ice patrol  • All participants must be wearing skates • Helmets are strongly recommended • No food or drink  • No horseplay, games or excessive speed  • No carrying children  • No items which may interfere with the safety of others

Introductory
Never participated in group fitness (sedentary lifestyle) or returning due to a break in fitness or injury (within one year).

Progressive
Active two or more days/week (i.e. personal fitness routine or group fitness), can participate at a moderate intensity level.

Performance
Active three or more days/week. Avid participation at a high intensity level.

It's never too late to learn to skate! Learn various skills involving moving forward and backward, gliding, stopping, turning and developing endurance - Limited spots available

Adult Learn to skate is taking a break for the Spring! Fee: $56 for 8 weeks

Must be 18 years or older

Instructor-led

CSA approved helmet is REQUIRED. 

Please be advised that we do not loan helmets at this time

 

Adult Power Skating

Activity Level: Progressive

 It's never too late to Power Skate!  This program will focus on balance, control and agility skills including components of power and speed. 

*All Participants must be able to skate forwards and backwards* 

 

Fee: $60.00 per session 

Spring Session : April 03 - April 24

Must be 18 years or older

CSA approved helmet is REQUIRED.

 Stick & Puck Rules:

  • Full equipment including a CSA approved helmet is required for children.

  • Adults are required to wear a helmet, gloves and skates.

  • Please bring own equipment including pucks.  

  • Maximum two children per adult
  • Parents or caregivers must be 18 years of age or older and are required to directly supervisor their child on the ice at all times
  • Slap shots and organized games or practices are not permitted
  • Profanity and improper behaviour is not be permitted
  • All accidents or injuries must be reported to arena staff members immediately
  • No headsets, cell phones, or handheld electronic devices permitted while skating
  • All participants must wear skates while on the ice surface

Ticket Ice

This hour is solely for figure skating practice. Skaters must provide their Skate Canada Number upon sign in. Children 12 years and under must be supervised on or off ice by an adult.

Previously called "Women's Learn to Play"

Improve women’s hockey skills in a fun, positive and inclusive environment. The focus will be on skating, puck handling and shooting skills and will include group work.


Drop-in Fee: $6

Full equipment including a CSA approved helmet is required

Combine your Skills & Drills experience with shinny. Monday combo is $10 per session.

Full hockey equipment is required (including CSA approved helmet and hockey stick)


Women's Skills & Drills will be taking a break for Spring 2024!

Renting Ice

Host skating parties, tournaments and more with ice rentals in the Town's arena. The ice surface can be booked for private rentals when available.
