The Office of the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, has informed the Town of Pelham that His Honour will be unable to attend scheduled events in Niagara on Friday June 21st due to illness.

On Friday, June 21, 2013, Mayor Dave Augustyn and Pelham Councillors will welcome the honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, to Pelham.

Planned for 4 p.m. is a tour of the Centennial Park playground, one of Pelham’s fully accessible playgrounds, followed by a meet and greet with the Fabulous Fenwick Lions during their biweekly Fish Fry.

Aviva Re-Confirms Support of Riehl Skate Park

Aviva Canada Inc. contacted the Town of Pelham today to re-confirm their $115,000 of Aviva Community Fund support for the Isaac Riehl Memorial Skate Park. Aviva clarified that their support will not be jeopardized by the Branscombe Family’s recent rejection of construction at Fonthill’s Harold Black Park.

A letter received yesterday by Pelham Town Council through River Realty Development Inc., states that the Branscombe Family rejects the request to build the Isaac Riehl Memorial Skate Park in Fonthill’s Harold Black Park.

Pelham Awarded Prestigious Bicycle Friendly Designation

Today, the Town of Pelham becomes the first Canadian town of its size to receive the coveted Bicycle Friendly Community designation. Awarded during the 2013 Ontario Bike Summit, Pelham joins Ottawa, Toronto, Waterloo, and Hamilton in accepting a Silver designation—no municipality has yet attained Gold.
