Pelham Crews Working During Warmer Winter Weather

Pelham Public Works welcomed the mild winter weather and got an early start on planned maintenance. All sections within the department (including Roads, Water and Wastewater, and Parks, Forestry and Cemeteries) stayed busy working on tasks that normally have to wait when winter operations are underway.

On Saturday, March 19, 2016, the Town of Pelham will join millions around the world for Earth Hour 2016. From 8:30-9:30 pm, all non-essential lighting and electrical equipment that do not compromise public safety or interfere with essential services, will be turned off at:

Pelham’s Water and Wastewater Fees Lowest in Region

For a third year in a row, the Town of Pelham froze water and wastewater rates for residents. The Town’s careful management of the water system (including meter replacements, infrastructure upgrades and continued system audits) helps offset the Region’s 3.2% water and 1.8% wastewater rate increases.

At a special ceremony on March 2, 2016, the Town of Pelham received a 2015 Niagara Community Design Award in Urban Design and Architecture for the Fenwick Streetscape Improvements.

Pelham Names Summersides Boulevard after Decorated WWII Veteran – Encourages Other Developers to Follow Suit

On Monday, February 1, 2016, Pelham Council set precedent by naming a key street in the East Fonthill development “Summersides Boulevard,” after Jim Summersides, a World War II veteran of the elite, joint Canadian-American “First Special Service Force.”
