July 1 Party in the Park Canada Day Event and Closures 2024
On July 1, 2024, join the Superhero and Princess Party in the Park.
The Town of Pelham is pleased to offer a free family-friendly event with children’s activities, local food, artisan, and community group vendors, live entertainment and fireworks display.
At 4:00 p.m. the Grand Parade will travel down Haist Street from A.K. Wigg School to the Harold Black Park.
Harold Black Park events include:
3:00 - 7:00 p.m. - Rotary Club of Fonthill Children's Area. Bouncers, archery, sno-cones, and more!
3:30 to 5:00 p.m. - The Jimmy Marando Swing Band
5:00 to 5:15 p.m. - Welcome Ceremony
5:15 to 6:30 p.m. - Walkman
6:45 to 8:15 p.m. - No More New Band
8:30 to 9:55 p.m. - Max-Life Crisis
9:55 p.m. - Singing of O' Canada
10:00 p.m. - Fireworks!
The Pelham Pool is also offering FREE public swim on July 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. Learn more about the pool at www.pelham.ca/pool

Closures:
The parade route rolling closures will be limited to Haist street only from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on July 1. Please use an alternate route.
The Town of Pelham Municipal Offices and administrative services as well as the Meridian Community Centre will be closed on July 1, 2024 and will reopen Tuesday July 2, 2024.
The Lincoln Pelham Public Library will operate regular hours on Saturday, June 29, for the Fonthill Branch from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and from noon to 4 p.m. at the Maple Acre Branch. The branches will be closed from Sunday, June 30 to Monday, July 1. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Essential Services:
For any after-hours emergency situations related to water, sewer, or road conditions and where there is imminent danger to public or private property, please call 905-892-2607 and follow the prompts or dial 905-734-0892 directly.

Waste Collection:
Niagara Region will continue to operate the regular pick-up for waste collection; there are no changes to waste collection on Monday, July 1, 2024.

Fireworks:
Consumer fireworks may only be used on Canada Day, Monday, July 1, 2024.
Before you decide to purchase and use fireworks, ensure you know the laws, know your space and read all instructions. Aside from federal laws, the Town of Pelham has a fireworks by-law.
- Refer to the safety instructions on the fireworks label for minimum stand-off distances for you and spectators.
- Make sure you look up and ensure there are no overhead obstructions in the range of your fireworks.
- Know how your fireworks will act and work in your space. Once they are lit, they can't be turned off!
- Always have a charged hose or a bucket of water close by.
