For the second time in as many days, Pelham Town Council heard from residents on an important issue that, despite only having directly affected certain pockets of town, could have large scale impacts if not dealt with in a timely and sufficient manner.

The gypsy moth infestation that the Town and residents battled in 2019 was mitigated through an aerial spray program that yielded desired results: trees were saved.

Pelham residents had their say during the Oct. 22 public meeting under the Planning Act regarding amendments to the Official Plan and Zoning By-law to include policies and regulations with respect to short term accommodations within the Town.

Niagara Region is undertaking a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for a new Pelham Elevated Water Storage Tank and transmission system upgrades.  This project is part of the recommended improvements from the recent Water and Wastewater Master Servicing Plan to the Pelham Water System.  The purpose of the study is to address adequate storage, pressure, and capacity to support growth.
