ROAD CLOSURE – SHORTHILL PLACE

Please be advised of the following road closure:

WHERE: Shorthill Place between Pelham Street and Station Street

WHY: Allow for installation of new storm sewers as part of the Pelham Street North Road Reconstruction works. 

WHEN: Thursday, October 10, 2019 until further notice

TIME: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Access will be granted to emergency services and to those travelling to and from properties within the closure zone.

In September, the Fonthill Bandshell Concert Committee presented to Council a concept for improvements to Peace Park that would ultimately make the Thursday night bandshell experience a safer and more enjoyable experience.  

The proposed modifications included regrading of the bowl surrounding the stage to achieve a gentler slope, planting additional trees, and improving drainage. Work to complete these tasks is underway.

Fall street sweeping begins Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

During this time residents are asked to be mindful of when and where they park on the street and to avoid doing so when available. 

Street sweeping is important seasonal maintenance and public safety is a primary concern. This maintenance removes debris from the gutters and roadsides that would otherwise end up going to the storm drains, causing water pollution which could affect fish or wildlife.
