A special Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for tonight, following the public meeting under the Planning Act at 6:30 p.m., addressing the topic of opting in/ opting out of retail cannabis stores in town.

T. Roy Adams was an eminent Niagaran, well known throughout the region, Canada, and abroad for his service to God, his country and his fellow citizens.

In memory of the late Councillor T. Roy Adams, Niagara Region initiated a memorial award in 2003 in his name to honour a resident of Niagara who best exemplifies Roy's values and dedication to community service; a person who sees volunteerism as an integral part of their life.

Town mourns the loss of former Councillor, citizen of the year, Gerry Berkhout

A statement from Mayor Marvin Junkin on the passing of Gerry Berkhout:

I, along with members of Council and town staff, am saddened to hear of the passing of Gerry Berkhout.

Mr. Berkhout was a community-driven individual, focused on enhancing our Town for everyone to enjoy. A former Town Councillor (1998-2003), Fonthill Lions member, citizen of the year, and member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mr. Berkhout served his community with passion and dedication. He will be missed by many.

Council reflects on first meeting around the horseshoe

For the first time, on December 17, 2018, the newly elected Pelham Town Council took their seats around the horseshoe.

With inauguration in the rear view, Council’s first decisions reflected much of what was heard on the campaign trail leading into this October’s election: fiscal responsibility.
