WHEREAS, it is estimated by Rotary International over a decade ago, World Polio Day is held on October 24th in celebration of the birth of Dr. Jonas Salk, the man who led the first team to develop a vaccine against polio.  The development of the polio vaccine reduced polio worldwide by 99%; and

Pelham Transit to alter route in the event of Niagara College strike

Please note: This transit change will only occur IF Niagara College goes on strike.

Pelham Transit riders take note that should Niagara College strike on Monday, October 16, 2017, Pelham Transit will not cross the picket line to drop off or pick up students.  As most transit will be rerouted, so too will Pelham Transit, operating from the corner of First Avenue and Woodlawn.

Connections to Welland Transit, Brock Link, and NOTL Link will also be available at this location.

Pelham Retains KPMG Canada for Third Party Audit

Pelham, ON – On October 2, 2017, at the regularly-scheduled Town of Pelham Council meeting, Town Council retained KPMG Canada to conduct a third party audit of all transactions and documents related to the 3.3 acre parkland over-dedication to the Town by Fonthill Gardens and a 2015 excess parkland dedication agreement between the Town and Fonthill Gardens.

Pelham Fire Department Prepares for Fire Prevention Week

Pelham, ON – October 8-14 is Fire Prevention Week and this year’s key message is “every second counts, plan two ways to get out”.

The Pelham Fire Department has been educating the public about the importance of fire safety since its inception in 1923. The Fire Department held an education session on Oct. 5 at the Pelham Farmer’s Market and will hold another on Oct. 14, tied into their charity barbeque at Giant Tiger in Fonthill.
