Development charge bylaw public meeting

On Wednesday, June 13, 2018 the Council of the Town of Pelham will hold a public meeting, pursuant to Section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended, to present and obtain public input on the Municipality’s proposed development charges bylaw and underlying background study.

All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting of Council and any person who attends the meeting may make representations relating to the proposed bylaw and background study.

An Excessive Heat Alert has been issued today, May 28, 2018 by Niagara Region Public Health as the temperature is expected to reach 31 ​°C with the overnight lows near 20 ​°C.

Niagara residents are advised to take extra precautions during episodes of extreme heat and humidity.

Signs of heat-related illness may include confusion, dizziness, nausea, muscle swelling, heart disturbances, and headache.

Aging in place development coming to Pelham

Pelham, ON– A multi-phase project consisting of seniors apartments, a retirement residence, and a long-term care facility is coming to Pelham.

Led by Samer El-Fashny, owner and operator of various retirement and long-term care facilities in Ontario, the project’s first phase – seniors apartments and retirement residence – will be completed by 2019. It is anticipated that phase two’s long-term care facility will begin development in 2021.
