FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 19, 2018
Pelham, ON– The Town of Pelham is invites any interested parties to the January 27, East Fenwick Secondary Plan information session. The session will take place from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Fire Station #2 in Fenwick, ON.
This session is the study’s third, with Town staff and consultants again providing the updates and summaries of the study’s process, objectives, and the input received to date. They will also summarize and explain the Land Use Plan study area.
East Fenwick’s Secondary Plan has been explored by staff, consultants, and residents since last June, beginning with a visioning workshop followed by a design workshop. During these workshops residents had an opportunity to have their say in the plan.
The purpose of the East Fenwick’s Secondary Plan study is to guide future growth and development in the area in a manner that takes into consideration the character of Fenwick and is consistent with Provincial, Regional and Local planning policies and legislation.
“The Consultants have engaged the community throughout the process through a variety of ways, and have received valuable input to date,” said Barbara Wiens, director of community planning and development. “Following this public consultation session, the Consultants will be working on writing the policies that will provide the guiding framework for the implementation of the East Fenwick Secondary Plan. The goal is to complete the project by early spring 2018.”
The current study helps define a vision for the area in East Fenwick defined by Balfour Street to the west, Memorial Drive to the north, Cream Street to the east, and Welland Road to the south.
Following this session, the consultant team will work collaboratively with Town staff and the East Fenwick Steering Committee to finalize the land use policy for the area.
