Pelham, ON – The Town of Pelham has won gold-level achievement in the 2024 dotCOMM Awards, an international competition honouring web creativity and digital communication excellence.
The Town of Pelham was awarded a gold level in the "website redesign" category for its recent updates to the website promoting the annual Pelham Summerfest festival. The website redesign included event information and highlights for the annual event that runs the third week of July. The website was also reconfigured and divided into the most popular search categories, such as attractions for each day, ways to get involved with the festival, and the shuttle service and parking.
“Upgrading the website to make it more mobile-friendly and accessible had been something that Pelham Summerfest volunteers have wanted to do for a number of years,” explained Director of Recreation, Culture and Wellness Vickie vanRavenswaay. “Grant funding allowed the website to be updated this year and it is encouraging to have the new site be recognized by both event attendees and with a dotCOMM award.”
The dotCOMM Awards are given out annually and are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The awards highlight the elements of the web's evolving tools and components that support digital public relations, marketing and advertising campaigns. This recognition is the second dotCOMM Award Pelham Summerfest has received.
Financial assistance from the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund, a program of the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, administered by the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund Corporation, made funding for the 2024 event and website enhancements possible.
